Shaun Oborn
Shaun is co-founder of Solo Effects, LLC and has worked in the computer graphics industry for 20 years. While a graduate student at Utah State University, he worked for a research company, Space Dynamics Laboratory, where his interest in computer graphics began. Shortly after finishing graduate school, he joined the RenderMan team at Pixar Animation Studios where he assisted in the development of shading and lighting tools. After leaving Pixar, Shaun worked for SGI as a solutions architect where he developed a Maya-to-Performer translator and acted as technical lead in the creation of digital content and real-time rendering applications. He recently helped NASA in the development of software used in a 3D immersive CAVE at the Goddard Space Flight Center. Currently he is assisting NASA in the development of real-time and physically based rendering software. Shaun has an MS and BS in computer science from Utah State University.
