These images were rendered by Phillum, a physically based ray tracer developed at NASA Goddard. Phillum was created to generate realistic images of spacecraft to test pose estimation software that was part of the Relative Navigation Sensor (RNS) Experiment which flew onboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis, STS-125, in May 2009.
